Definitely martial arts and gangsters. No other option. When I suggested gangster in class I was thinking a more modern gangster. 1920's gangsters, however, will do and is cooler anyway. They're dapper and gritty. They show their formal side through their attire and their wealth. They wore the nicest clothes and often times lived in the nicest places. They were also ruthless though. They'd do anything to get their job done and they'd never let their family down. Respect and honor were huge to the mafia and to top it off they were all related. Each gang was a family and any potential member of the mafia had to have a lineage traceable back to Italy.
As for martial arts, I probably just listen to too much Wu-Tang Clan. I am intrigued by martial arts but more for the meditation and balance aspect of Eastern martial arts than actual combat.
